RESTRICTION IN THE NAME OF PROTECTION

Topics that are related to women are always at top of the trending list, right from actress marriage, illegitimate relationships, and sexual violence towards women.

Now I’m also taking on topic, which is related to women, but from a different perspective. If a girl encounters a stalker, her parents, friends, and relatives suggest that her to change the route to home, or her parents will accompany her while travelling from home to school, college, or the office. But they don’t even consider filing a complaint against the stalker or warning the stalker in person.

I don't consider it a protection method to protect women. Why do women have to change their lives or lifestyles in order to avoid some rogues?

I think women don’t want protection from men. They just need mental support and guidance (if needed) from an experienced person of any gender.

Women are capable of doing anything. They don’t need the physical strength of men as support.

I have a question for all the parents who have a girl child.

How long can you protect your girl child?

Mostly, they say, up to the age of her marriage.

After that?

They say it is her husband who will take care of her.

I don’t understand the concept that we have been practicing for centuries without understanding the reason behind it, which is nothing but an oppression strategy towards women.

It is wrong to guide the female child to avoid this critical situation. Instead of that, parents should teach them how to tackle and face these kinds of situations. Instead of changing routes, teachers teach them martial arts, which help them protect themselves.

On a personal note, don't hurt a girl child mentally in the name of protecting her. Because if she was practicing this kind of protection from her parents, she would definitely do the same with her girl child as well.
